25 Content Sources and More on iMediaShare in 3 Months

April 11th, 2011

channels-premChannelsIn the beginning of 2011 we announced the completely reworked version of iMediaShare for Android that has been featured by better usability of UI and playback of online content on TV screens. In those days we had just a few online channels like YouTube, Picasa, Facebook, TED (SD & HD), NASA TV and Motorz TV (SD & HD) in addition to the phone stored photos, videos and music.

Three months later if you open iMediaShare a scrollable screen with channels’ icons is loaded. Today their number is exactly 30 including those for phone-stored content. If you exclude the duplicate SD & HD versions for some of the channels the exact number of various content sources is exactly 25. While that number is not big enough it has been achieved in less than 3 months and that number is growing pretty fast. Probably you have noticed from time to time new icons appear magically on the channels’  dashboard screen. But there is not magic behind. We have designed the system to be fully configurable from our end and push new channel whenever it is ready for streaming instead of waiting for a couple of weeks when the next release cycle has ended.

While iOS version is not quite there (recently Apple approved for sale Premium Edition), it is on its way. iMediaShare Free edition has been submitted and we are waiting for Apple’s approval soon. What it means is that the exact same number of online channels will pop up on Channels screen on any iOS device. More than that Android and iOS users will be introduced with new channels whenever they become available and can enjoy one and the same content sources.

Update (04/12/11): Today Apple approved Free edition. Now it is available for download/update from iTunes AppStore

@AUVNI Thanks. We’ll evaluate the possibility to add DEEZER to our channels lineup.

Is there any possibility to add some “folder like” interface to group the channels? Maybe it would be a great feature, since the number of channels is increasing greatly.
I would like to suggest some channels in brazilian portuguese, such Terra TV or Uol TV.
Keep up doing an excellent work!
    Cheers!
