Korean, Spanish and German Translations with iMediaShare 3.32 for Android

April 2nd, 2011

World FlagsWith the latest update 3.32 iMediaShare for Android becomes truly international. Korean, Spanish and German translations were added to already available English (app’s default language) and Japanese. Korean was done thanks to our Korean partners Ubi-nuri who also helps us to distribute iMediaShare more successfully in Korea. Presently we are working on translations of iMediaShare in French and Russian and they’ll become available with the release of the application.

If you’d like to have iMediaShare in your language drop us a line at ims@bianor.com and let us know about your preferences.

Update: Russian translation is done by our community member and friend Dmitry Kutsenko. Thanks, Dmitry, for all you help!

Stability Improvements in iMediaShare 3.01 for iOS

March 23rd, 2011

Photos & Videos not Accessible

A week after Apple approved for sale/download release 3.0 a new version of iMediaShare is available in AppStore. It doesn’t bring any new functionality as it is mainly bug fixing and stability improvements version. It also gives a good explanation why some of users were unable to access locally stored on the phone photos and videos. Trying to accessMy Photos or My Videos and a message box pops up saying that iOS APIs enforce to grant permissions to Location Services in order to be able to access those media items. It is quite a strange decision by Apple to do so but to some extend it makes sense. Some of the photos especially the ones taken with phone camera may have location related data and it is user’s decision whether it shall be shared with 3rd party app or not.

In short if you’d like to play your phone stored photos or videos to the TV screen you need to enable Location Services for iMediaShare and then start again the application. Otherwise 3.01 is highly recommended for update as it brings some other behind the scene fixes which improves the overall user experience with the application.

iMediaShare Enables Online Media Shifting for iPhone Owners

March 13th, 2011

Splash-PremWe are really excited again! The long waited 3.0 release for iPhone/iPod Touch is out now. On Friday Apple approved for sale iMediaShare Premium and we are in a wait for the Free edition to be approved as well. 3.0 is a major release which enables online media shifting for iPhone/iPod Touch owners. It brings pretty much the same functionality to iMediaShare for Android. It is lacking some of the channels already available in Android version but soon they will be added.

The new version is a total UI and functional rework. It introduces a completely new way of selecting videos and photos captured with phone’s camera which is very intuitive. The playback is very straight forward and with a couple of taps you can enjoy a favorite video or photo.

iMediaShare Premium is available for download or update from iTunes App Store. You can discover it by following the link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/imediashare-premium/id348147113?mt=8&ls=1

Two New Channels Added to iMediaShare for Android

March 11th, 2011

channels-freeIt is Friday and it is time for another great release of iMediaShare for Android. The new version 3.3 brings two new channels – Revision3 and CNet. Revision3 creates and produces all-original weekly and daily episodic community driven programs for a super committed, passionate fan base while CNet is where you go to discover the latest in tech and consumer electronics. Both channels are available is SD and HD quality so shows can be enjoyed on both small and big screens. With the two new programs the channels available on iMediaShare become 17, including the multimedia content stored on the phone.

3.3 release also adds functional improvements and performance optimizations. Most interesting is the video info screen. It displays the full video/show title, date, playtime and a description of the video/show itself. It also features a Facebook Share button so you can post a video right to your Facebook wall and share it with friends.

In the next few weeks we expect to add more news, entertainment and other channels to the Android version of iMediaShare. Check iMediaShare channel screen regularly for more entertaining shows.

Remote Video Playback on PlayStation 3 Has Never Been Better

February 1st, 2011

feature-graphic_03It has been almost a month since we introduced the major 3.0 release of iMediaShare for Android. And today we introduce the next version 3.1 which is already available for download from Android Market. I would say it is a very special release for those whose primary media playback device is PlayStation 3. For 3.0 we received quite a lot of feedback about choppy video playback from the remote sources (TED, YouTube and NASA TV). While that issue is influenced by the available bandwidth for video streaming the major reason causing it is a severe problem with video buffering in PlayStation 3.  After some hard work our engineering team found a work around of that issue and streaming from YouTube, TED or NASA cannot be better than now.

The second big announcement is the extension of video playback support to Sony Bravia TVs, Panasonic Viera TVs, and Sony Blu-rays. It is still in experimental phase but we hope your feedback would help us move it to a stable state pretty fast.

Enjoy your personal TV experience with the latest iMediaShare for Android 3.1 release and stay tuned for more news from our side.
