Last week we released a new version of iMediaShare for Android (v2.4) which is a big step ahead. It enables discovery of favorite YouTube videos on the screen of mobile handset and push them for watching directly to the TV screen. And all that is possible regardless of the TV make or media box (e.g. XBox360, XBMC, etc.), iMediaShare is connected to.
Well, you may wonder what is the news behind that. Most new connected TVs sets come with such a functionality built-in and pretty often you prefer to watch YouTube videos on your PC, isn’t it? While the first statement is quite valid the latter one is a bit under discussion. Recently Google announced that 75% of users who use YouTube Mobile, say that their phone is the primary device to watch videos. Another 70% of all mobile YouTube users responded that they access YouTube at least once per day. Wow! Doesn’t it sound like a mass consumption of video content from YouTube over mobile! But wait! What about having this “small extra” to discover and select the videos you want to
watch and enjoy them on a much bigger screen with brilliant quality of the image (TVs are anyway designed for that kind of experience). More than that you can have that favorites always in your pocket and play it on any compliant network-enabled TV or media boxes so you do not need to configure and search your YouTube access. You can’t put your TV in your pocket and on XBox360 or Playstation 3 you don’t have an easy to use YouTube app (Imagine how you spell with TV remote control or gamepad the trailer of Resident Evil HD – in my opinion it is not fun).
The best way to have that experience is to give it a try yourself. Go to Android Market and download iMediaShare Premium 2.4. Then go to Social Networks tab and select YouTube. All the rest is up to you.

“Hey this is cool. Easy to use.Samsung Intercept”

That’s a comment posted on Android Market which speaks itself pretty much how people do evaluate iMediaShare. Maybe you are wondering why do I post a comment which every one interested in iMediaShare can read by himself? And why exactly this one? Well, the answer is pretty simple – for the last couple of weeks iMediaShare has been featured by Sprint in its Sprint Zone app for Samsung Intercept. Sprint Zone application makes it easy for customers to interact with Sprint from virtually anywhere and iMediaShare is prominently featured within Suggested Apps section.

Picked from 70 000+ apps T-Mobile USA ranks iMediaShare in “The best apps for your T-Mobile Android device”. The list is published in the fall issue of T-Mobile’s Android Apps Magazine and it contains the greatest apps recommendations from Android Market according to T-Mobile.
T-Mobile USA is a national provider of wireless voice, messaging, and data services capable of reaching over 293 million Americans where they live, work, and play. Among company’s slogans are “Stick Together” and “Life’s for Sharing” which define clearly the social vision the operator is committed to. iMediaShare is aligned with that vision as well. Thus T-Mobile comes as a natural partner in enabling people to share emotions and experiences with friends and family.

Does it make sense to watch your iPhone photos or videos on your handset when you’re in the living room and you have the big screen of Sony or LG TV in front of you? Probably it doesn’t. And it doesn’t make sense to us too so we are happy to announce that now iMediaShare Premium for iPhone brings that to reality. It shares your pics and videos and you can watch them on those TVs. It comes a month after we made that possible for Android. With this cool feature we take one step further to our commitment to enable multimedia sharing across as many screens and devices in our homes as possible.
Unfortunately there are some limitations in respect to sharing video content to Sony TVs and we are working on that issues to be resolved in near future.

In the latest release of iMediaShare for Android (1.7 – Free and 1.8 – Premium) we gave higher priority in improving stability of the application. We fixed some issues causing crashes of the application from time to time. Even though they were not major ones and did not blocked partially or entirely certain functionality we understood that it was quite annoying. As the high quality is a standard in our mobile software solutions we gave high priority to bug fixing than introducing new features.
As iMediaShare proves to be quite stable now we are again focused on the so many ideas we have – lots of them thanks to your feedback, guys. Right now we are working on some very exciting features which I believe will be of great value to all of you. I tempted to share them with you but I’ll spoil the surprise for you so stay tuned for the next couple of weeks when we plan those features to be released.

I am excited to announce two new releases of iMediaShare for Android – 1.5 (Free) and 1.6 (Premium). There are quite a lot of new great features which extends the supported target devices. I am happy to let you know that now iMediaShare for Android is able to share and stream all your mobile photo, video and music files to the bigger screen of Sony and LG connected TVs.
We also introduced some UI changes enabling faster selection of multiple photos, videos and/or music for sharing. There are some other minor improvements such as:
- Notification when server is turned on
- Auto-check for updates
- Preview Facebook, Flickr and Pisasa albums (available only in Premium)
Go to Android Market and download or update the latest version. As usual I would be happy to get your feedback on iMediaShare.
