Release 3.2 for iOS Enables iPod Music Streaming

My Music Picker

Listening to the feedback and recommendations provided by iMediaShare users is crucial for us to move the application forward. One of the most desired features in iOS version was access to iPod library and streaming music to any connected entertainment devices around the house. With the latest 3.2 release of iMediaShare for iOS we enabled that capability and Music icon is now part of the content sources’ lineup. It is still in beta as there were some technical challenges which we need to overcome.

iMediaShare 3.2 also extends the playback support of camera recorded videos when streamed to network-enabled media devices. What iMediaShare brings now is a on-the-fly conversion of video files from Apple’s proprietary video format into a more widely accepted MP4 format. Thus devices like Sony PlayStation 3 can play flawlessly videos recorded with iPhone camera. Unfortunately there are still a certain devices that are not capable to recognize MP4 videos.

Finally iMediaShare has also improved application start time by optimizing long lasting local videos and photos loading operation. With this improvement now you can reach your favorite online content much faster and start playing videos from YouTube or whatever online service directly on the TV screen.

In short iMediaShare 3.2 is a big step ahead release. Probably we should version it as 4.0 but to keep it consistent with the Android 3.x release cycles we just sticked to that;-) Anyway go to iTunes App Store and get iMediaShare Free or Premium and I hope you’ll enjoy. Do not forget to let us know what do you think about that. We appreciate your feedback a lot!

    Hello,

I’ve just downloaded this great app and realized no need to buy AppleTV for AirPlay anymore!!

However, the music function doesn’t support sequence play in playlists, which is the only point I was disappointed on.
I mean, playing music in albums are fine, but it says “no next item” or “no previous item” when my iPhone plays music in playlists.
    Can you fix it??

In addition, if you improve this bad point, of course, I will buy the premium version, but I want to know the difference between the free version and the premium, because I feel iMediaShare(Free) is too perfect to update to the premium.

    Best,

    Hi,

Thank you for the point. It is really something we need to think about and add it in the next versions of iMediaShare.

In respect to the edition differences Free version is Ad-supported otherwise there is not other difference at the moment. However, we do plan to introduce some in the neat future and we’ll let you know.

I own an iPhone 4S and recently purchased a Samsung Smart TV 7 Series (7050 specifically). I’ve been looking for a way to access Samsung’s AllShare feature to play music from my iPhone and not have to pay for AppleTV. I found this app and thought it would do the trick. The app does have an icon to access my music on the phone and then attempt to stream it over to the Samsung TV. The Samsung TV however says all of my music files are Not Supported (e.g., File Format Not Supported). So in the end, it’s a teaser and doesn’t really work. Is it because of Samsung or is it because the app isn’t transferring the files in the correct format?

    Thanks!

@Bootleggings iPod Library is basically able to store music files in two file formats – mp3 and m4a. Presently Samsung Smart TVs are able to play only mp3 files and not m4a files. iMediaShare passes the file in its original format to the TV as changing the format is related to battery drain. In this case I would say it is due to the lack capabilities in your Samsung TV. However, we are working on a solution which I hope will solve that kind of issue. In the meantime you could also change your music files into mp3 format in iTunes and resync your music library with your iPhone 4S.

    Hi,
I have some question to ask about iMediaShare with IOS and Android system. I’ve just download iMediaShare(Ver3.3) in my iPhone4S ios5, and play mp3 file on my DLNA player, it’s work fine, but some infomation cannot sohw on TV screen, file size and total time always sohw zero…

And I use my another phone that’s Android system 2.3.6, then download iMediaShare(Ver3.63) in my Android phone, play the same mp3 file on my DLNA player, it’s work fine too, and all infomation are correct.

My DLNA player is Realtek solution.
Why iMediaShare in Android system can sohw correct but incorrect in IOS system?

    Thanks!

Thank you for the feedback. We’ll check that issue and solve it in some of our next releases. Does it lead to poor performance of music playbacks

    @Stefan L

I’m also hoping you can make a fix to the app so we can play continuous music from playlists or albums when streaming to a TV. Right now its one-and-done. Otherwise, great app.
